Dear Club Representative,

NATIONAL SHOOTING WEEK 2011

Saturday 28 May to Sunday 5 June

Please play your part in the year’s biggest event to promote shooting to the public.

We need your help to ensure that your club joins in to make National Shooting Week, a truly successful and exciting initiative.

Since 2007, National Shooting Week has introduced thousands of new people to the sport of shooting. This is entirely down to hundreds of forward-thinking clubs, grounds and ranges who have organised local events across the country. Apart from introducing new people to shooting, many event organisers have increased their memberships or boosted revenue as a result. Media coverage of National Shooting Week has reached millions of people helping to get our message across and to protect your sport.

This year, National Shooting Week will take place between Saturday 28th May and Sunday 5th June 2011. With shooting, firearms legislation and young people’s access to guns under scrutiny in Parliament, there has never been a more important time to introduce new people to the sport. All the shooting organisations are backing National Shooting Week and what we need from you is a commitment to run an open day(s) where the public can come and try shooting during the Week.

To sign up to become an Event Organiser, please visit www.nationalshootingweek.co.uk, click on ‘Register as an Organiser’ and complete the registration form online. This will only take a couple of minutes. You will then receive an Organiser’s Pack to help you promote your open day(s).

If you require more information before you sign up, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Many thanks for reading this. Let’s make it a week to remember for promoting shooting!

Best wishes,

David Taylor

Don’t take my word for it. Here’s what two of last year’s brilliant event organisers had to say:

“National Shooting Week is the opportunity to promote and introduce newcomers to our amazing sport. The support provided to Bolton Gun Club has been outstanding and has allowed us to promote our sport and gain new members for our club. We certainly look forward to running an event in the future.”

James Murphy, Bolton Gun Club.

“We definitely plan to take part next year as we have found National Shooting Week to be the most effective way of recruiting new members and raising the awareness of shooting sports with the general public”

Ian Jones, Altrincham Target Sports Centre
